Introducing my 2D fundamental group project. Actually, this is our final project which has been re-done for twice. The basic idea was actually to make a combination of our 4 faces (me, and my group member) as one in an A0 size.
The most challenging thing was the requirements that were needed. We need to fill that big face with very small elements, and no repetition methods were allowed to use. The only materials that we used were just black drawing pen with several sizes. We spent about four days to fill it up with the super tiny dots, which was a request from our lecturer.  As you can see at the zoomed in part above, its was one of my parts, and I filled it with the Balinese traditional aksara, and  the words writing is mentioning my groups name and a long-short story about our journey.
After the assessment week ended, we realized that we learned so many things from that activity. The very first thing was the group intention and cooperation, and last but not least was not to make something in an “any how” way.

The very last week :D *Thankfully*

What if people live for a hundred years later from NOW?

This question was what i've discussed with my group, Yufan and Eurick for the final week and also the presentation. We did a short brain storming to get some ideas what to make and present. Then, we got some references from the internet. Some of us have watched a move called Surrogates before. But honestly i haven't watched it yet. But i've heard the long story short from my group about it.

Surrogates is a 2009 American science fiction action film, based on the 2005–2006 comic book series of he same name. Directed by Jonathan Mostow, it stars Bruce Willis as FBI Agent Tom Greer who ventures out into the real world to investigate the murder of surrogates (humanoid remote control vehicles). It also stars Radha Mitchell , Rosamund Pike, Boris Kodjoe, Ving Rhames and James Cormwell.
The film's main concept centres around the mysterious murder of a college student linked to the man who helped create a high-tech surrogate phenomenon that allows people to purchase remote controlled humanoid robots through which they interact with society. These fit, attractive, remotely controlled robots ultimately assume their life roles, enabling people to experience life vicariously from the comfort and safety of their own homes. Surrogates was released on September 25, 2009 in the United States and Canada. And it was released by TouchStone Pictures .

Based on that, we decided to make something futuristic. And this film became our main reference. We did it in our sketch book first, brainstorm, then make the outcome in the A3 size paper. Then took the picture. Here are some of the photos. It's simple but i think its explaining enough.

Basically, we chose a robot because in the future everything is gonna be "able" and instant. The robots we make is going to be as clever as us, the human being. The prices maybe so expensive, but its all gonna be payed off with their multitasking behaviour and treats. Without my explanations you i'm sure you can imagine how easy our life is will be in the future. No need to pay maids, driver, or even gardener. They can do all your homeworks also with the easiness to use. I'm sure, the modern technology in our future will adequate this robots basic requirements.

ASSESSMENT WEEK, I'M COMMINGG!!!

For right the last weeks until the foundation ends, I've learned about analogical thinking in my creative thinking's class. And guess what? today it's just started.

Analogy : is a cognitive process of transferring information or meaning from a particular subject (the analogue or source) to another particular subject (the target), or a linguistic expression corresponding to such a process. The word analogy can also refer to the relation between the source and the target themselves, which is often, though not necessarily, a similarity, as in the biological notion of analogy.
                                                                                                    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Analogy

But in a simple way, i do understand the analogical thinking as the way people formed something, based on what has inspired them. It can be design or anything.  And here are 5 pictures that me and my group has found, to reflect a bit about analogical thinking, and also the rests are my individual's.

Those images are some examples how people express what has been inspired them into something valuable and really good to be seen. As we see in our real life, there are so many things that have influenced by their own basic materials. As the building at the last picture, it looks like a huge fungi or plantae kinds of things. And this architectural thingies were really related to their very first material in an idea form. For me and my group, to see what these things brought are so unique and catchy. And with the sea horse's dinning table, people will really think how can the designer make the shape looks alike that, even before they sit.

I found this cute little acc in elsie's blog when i was searching about analogical thinking examples. It's really cute, isn't it?
I think her idea was really succeeded, because she's like comparing the similarity into one simple design. It can also describe her hobby or what she likes. Plants, green, or flowers perhaps.

This artsy little candle was designed by Jaehyung Hong. Which was really inspired by the egg and the kitchen's stuff. His art work is really simple but he did it in a really interesting way too. So i really get the similarity from an egg to a unique candle.

Analogical thinking brings us beautifully how nature influences our life. People may use it as reference to make/build near anything. In this case, the fashion world gets inspired by it. Nature has it all. Shapes, color, textures and whole other bunch of things that would inspire us. Cars, home appliances from all kind, clothes. It's a never ending source of ideas. But it may not last forever... so people, do you share in order to preserve our home planet. It is the only place you can live after all.

Give birds a welcome home and a place to hatch their young with the colorful and durable
Egg Bird House. The glossy ceramic Egg Bird House has a 1 1/8″ diameter entry hole to attract
chickadees, wrens and smaller birds, keeping house sparrows out. The handmade Egg Bird House is
easy to use, durable, predator proof and available in eight glossy colors. A perfect outdoor companion to the Egg Bird Feeder that will keep birds coming to your home all year long.
It is a design by Schatz Studio. His idea was really linking the nature with what we call modernly made nowadays.

And these kinds of things really made me think of how the artist thoughts and brainstormed their ideas to create something which is look like it's real material without forgetting the brilliant functions.

New theme :D

Pareidolia  is a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus (often an image or sound) being perceived as significant, a form of apophenia. Common examples include seeing images of animals or faces in clouds, the man in the moon or the moon rabbit, and hearing hidden message on records when played in reverse.

Sometimes i really think about how the unexpected things comes accidentally out. And this is what people called Pereidolia. There are so many things in our daily life prove this theory. And here are some simple pictures i got, and they made me understand what is Pareidolia phenomena.

Ingredients : Secret recipe of Starbucks
My friend was about to drink this sweet little frapuchino, when i suddenly saw an un-obvious eyes and mouth, shaped by the whipping cream. For me, it is like sayingg "nooooooooo" because we're going to destroy the whipping cream.  This face look so cute yet pity, because we still have to drink it.

       Place : My apartment.

Okay, right this one maybe look too obvious but at least, i've tried to make it looks cute and "smile". I got a sudden idea by eating this healthy snack which always "smiled" my morning.

Place : My apartment

If you can see the two eyes of cheezels, combined with the square shape as the face. The colour and texture were really matched.

Place : Dessert first
Name : bean curd

When i ate this fluffy healthy dessert, i really cant stop my hand from moving the spoon into my mouth. And when i realised, it shaped a mouth with two eyes and little nose. The ingredients were soya and sugar or milk i guess, then it looks like it was saying that he doesn't want to be eaten, by me. hahaha Because my mouth is not gonna be as cold as his house, refrigerator.

   Place : Dessert first
  Name : Shaved ice durian

"You are not going to regret what you've eaten, and be sad for the one you've never.." I'm really sure, you are gonna like this sweet temptation after the foods before. The ice, milk, and durian fruit on top made your tongue wants to taste it more. But if you see it a bit more serious, my last night dessert was shaping a squid captain, just like in a pirates movie. See the eyes, the hat, and the floating foot and messy arms. hahahaha He really reminded me to that pirates film.
